SDRPY, Al-Awn Foundation Launch Rural Education Access Project in Aden.
The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY), in collaboration with the Al-Awn Foundation for Development, on Tuesday launched a rural education access project in Aden.
The project aims to provide a teaching diploma to 150 girls in five rural areas across four Yemeni governorates.
The project seeks to increase education rates and reduce illiteracy among girls in rural areas. It also intends to address the issue of girls dropping out of general education in rural areas by qualifying more female teachers and increasing their numbers in public schools. Ultimately, the project is expected to boost girls' enrollment in general education in the targeted areas.
The initiative marks the beginning of a partnership between SDRPY and the Al-Awn Foundation for Development, which contributes to achieving sustainable development, particularly in education in rural areas, and encourages girls to pursue higher education, obtain post-secondary diplomas, and enhance their life skills.
SDRPY has implemented more than 229 developmental projects and initiatives, benefiting the people of Yemen in eight crucial sectors, including education, health, water, energy, transportation, agriculture and fisheries, the development and support of Yemeni government capabilities, and developmental programs.
