Yemeni Prime Minister Visits SDRPY’s Headquarters
Prime Minister of Yemen Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak along with his accompanying delegation, visited the headquarters of the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) in Riyadh today. During the visit, he met with SDRPY General Supervisor Ambassador Mohammed bin Saeed Al Jaber and several members of the program.
A presentation on the latest updates of the program’s projects and initiatives across 14 Yemeni governorates was delivered to the Yemeni prime minister. These initiatives span eight sectors: education, health, water, energy, transportation, agriculture and fisheries, enhancing and strengthening government capabilities, and development programs. Recent efforts include laying the foundation stones for projects to establish and equip a medical college, a girls' educational complex, and a water resource enhancement project in Marib Governorate. The prime minister was also briefed on the completion of the first phase of the expansion and rehabilitation of the Al-Abr Road and the ongoing work at the Al-Wadiah border crossing rehabilitation project.
Dr. bin Mubarak emphasized the importance of Saudi Arabia’s efforts, through SDRPY, in fostering Yemen’s growth and prosperity and improving the quality of life across the country. He commended the program’s projects and initiatives, which are dedicated to promoting development in Yemen.
Al Jaber stated: “Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, is committed to supporting Yemen's future, stability, and prosperity with the help of its citizens, as per a development vision led by the Yemeni government to achieve comprehensive growth in Yemen.
Both sides praised the excellent and fruitful cooperation between the Yemeni government and its institutions with the program, highlighting the ongoing coordination in advancing development, delivering sustainable projects and initiatives, improving the daily lives of the Yemeni people, creating job opportunities, and enhancing infrastructure in key sectors.
