Saudi program for Yemen, UN Development Program hold workshop in Riyadh
The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen held a workshop in Riyadh with the UN Development Program with the aim of boosting cooperation between the two entities.
Dr. Nahid Hussein, deputy resident representative of the UN Development Program in Yemen, and Hassan Al-Attas, assistant general supervisor of the SDRPY, led the workshop.
The workshop reviewed the state of the Yemeni fishing industry and explored ways to collaborate in supporting industries related to food security in Yemen.
The SDRPY presented 18 development projects and initiatives aimed at promoting modern agricultural technologies and systems, establishing greenhouses, distributing modern fishing boats and increasing sustainable food production.
These efforts are part of a larger package of 224 SDRPY projects in education, health, water, energy, transportation, agriculture and fisheries, as well as capacity building of government institutions and development programs.
