SDRPY Launches Educational Projects in Taiz, Yemen.
The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) opened the project of the Omar bin Al-Khattab Model School and the joint Wihda Model School in Taiz governorate, which aims at supporting education and learning as part of 52 educational projects and initiatives in various Yemeni governorates, and 229 development projects and initiatives across Yemen.
The two projects are in response to the urgent need for education, addressing the educational needs of students and providing new educational opportunities under a stimulating, conducive and safe educational environment for students to invest in their potential and abilities. The educational projects are implemented as per high specifications and adapt the geography of the region to create an educational environment for the residents of the area, where schools have become a source of hope for families aspiring for safe and stable education for their children.
The SDRPY seeks to develop schools and educational facilities to attract students and achieve the goal of providing a comprehensive education for all students. School construction is an investment in the most important resource, which is the human resource, specifically in children's education, which is the core focus of human development, in addition to providing employment opportunities through various educational institutions in a bid to lead to an economic development centred on educated people, which can lead to improving the living standards and livelihoods.
Modern scientific facilities and techniques in model schools help support non-classroom activities, enhance the comprehensive knowledge of students, boost the educational process, improve students' educational attainment, develop the school environment, facilitate students' access to quality education, and provide educational opportunities for all.
So far, SDRPY has executed 229 development projects and initiatives across various Yemeni governorates, serving the Yemeni people in seven key sectors: education, healthcare, water, energy, transportation, agriculture, and fisheries. These efforts have also included capacity-building for government institutions and the implementation of various development programs.
