SDRPY Supports and Expands Access to Quality Education Opportunities Across Yemen.
The development projects and initiatives carried out by the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) play a significant role in raising the quality of education across Yemen, given its crucial role in sustainable development.
The program's support for education is the largest of its eight sectors, demonstrating its dedication to and success in attaining long-term educational goals.
The SDRPY's projects and initiatives stand out because they aim to help achieve Sustainable Development Goal 4: a commitment to "ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all."
The SDRPY supported the education sector in eleven governorates of Yemen—Taiz, Aden, Socotra, Al-Mahra, Marib, Hadramawt, Hajjah, Lahj, Abyan, Shabwa, and Al-Dhale. These governorates benefited from 52 sustainable development projects and initiatives.
Development projects and initiatives within the SDRPY have focused on the education sector. These programs aim to improve access to higher education, technical and vocational training, and general education in Yemen. By doing so, they have positively impacted people's lives and will continue to do so in the future.
With 52 development projects and initiatives presented, including those to support technical and vocational training and higher education, the program prioritizes education as a vital component of development and reconstruction efforts in the country.
When planning its educational projects, the SDRPY considers the needs of people with disabilities, especially in terms of meeting the standards necessary for their easy and convenient use of the facilities.
To improve the daily lives and livelihoods of Yemeni people across the country, the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen seeks to increase the efficacy and efficiency of Yemeni cadres and capabilities in many areas so that they can carry out the tasks assigned to them.
The SDRPY has had a significant impact on the education sector. It has played a crucial role in promoting education as a key driver of development and advancing social and economic progress in Yemen. The program has ensured that students of all age groups have access to education and has supported the education sector.
This support is part of the program's broader efforts to develop and reconstruct Yemen, encompassing eight essential sectors. The SDRPY implemented 229 development projects and initiatives in 14 governorates in Yemen so far.
